This outdoor wireless IP camera is a 2 Megapixel Camera that unlike other wireless ip cameras on the market. First it has a true IP66 weather proof rating making it ideal for use outdoors in an unsheltered location. It can withstand rain and snow. Secondly it has a wireless WiFi radio that support 802.11 b/g/n meaning you can use the faster wireless radios or routers along with it. Third and most importantly, it has a high definition 2 megapixel image sensor that supports video resolution up to 1600×1200 pixels. All of these are features that are missing on the cheaper toy type ip cameras being sold on most home consumer oriented sites like Amazon.
Let’s not forget, this camera has a varifocal zoom lens of 3.6mm to 16mm that allows for up to a 75 degree viewing angle, and zoomed all the way in a 20 degree viewing angle. This camera runs on a 12V DC power adapter that plugs in to a regular 110-220V socket, or you can also rig this camera to run straight off a car battery of 12V. Just make sure you use a voltage regulator when using a battery, otherwise the camera may get fried by too much voltage.
Best of all, it is available with an optional 32GB SD card for internal video storage. You can use motion detection to only record video to the SD card. This comes in handy in low traffic scenarios in remote areas where a security camera is needed. Simply configure the camera for motion detection, install the camera and provide power to it. It will keep watch of the area and record video to the internal SD card (optional). If you have wifi enabled on the camera, you can approach the camera with a laptop and router and access the camera wirelessly and download video of interest.
The built-in web server gives the user full control over settings and gives a streamlined video feed capable of viewing on PCs and Smartphones alike. This camera is ONVIF compatible and will work with blue iris. It is ideal for use as a standalone camera or with a PC recording software.
